Guy and Boyet, mga orig sa beach wedding!
BY: DENNIS ADOBAS
Guy and Boyet! Eat your hearts out, mga manggagaya, mga second-rate, trying-hard copycats!
Ikinasal sina Guy at Boyet sa isang beach sa Batangas some months after finishing the shoot of “Banaue”.
Ang tanong ng mga miron: Tulad nina Guy and Boyet, are Maggie and Victor also headed for splitsville?
Huwag namang ganyan!
On behalf of Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto, Ms. Jocelyn Montalbo of the provincial DSWD received her trophy, while Atty. Rey Regalado did it for Senator Angara. Sahlee Quizon, former actress and daughter of Dolphy received the Comedy King’s award.
Ang mga performers naman ay ang Gawad Kalinga Tatalon Performing Arts Chorale, College of the Holy Spirit Chorale, Njel de Mesa, a group of Aeta schoolchildren from Bataan who sang Christmas songs and Filipino folk songs with very pure and unadulterated voices! The Philippine National Anthem was a video collaboration between GMA-7 and SM Cinemas, while the Doxology was done by the Don Bosco Technical Institute of Balanga, Bataan.
Bakit kaya hindi man lang napasama sa top three nominees for Metro Manila Filmfest Best Actress si Jennelyn Mercado for “Rosario”?
Sabi ni Butch Francisco, “Startalk” host, Philippine Star columnist and one of the jurors: “The role of Rosario was coquettish and flirtatious which requires long preparation and a series of acting workshops. Jennelyn failed to come up to this requirement. She doesn’t even know how to hold a cigarette when her character was supposed to be very much ahead of her time, as in she smokes and smokes like it’s second nature to her character!”
At bakit second nominee si Mike Tuviera for “Super Inday”?
“Well, Tuviera was able to come up with a fresh take of an old material!”, sabi pa ni Butch.
Naghuhugas-kamay si Butch by saying na ang kanyang judgment or opinion doesn’t necessarily influence that of the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino. “It’s another playfield!”, aniya pa.
