Brillante at Alice Dixson sa Club Mwah!

By: Dennis Adobas

Enjoy na enjoy ang lahat sa palabas ng Follies de Mwah consisting of the following production numbers:  an excerpt from “Showgirl”, “Real Woman Tonight”, “I Feel Pretty” (from “West Side Story”), isang dance remix featuring red fairies with wings, “Move, Move, Move” nina Beyonce Knowles at Jennifer Hudson (from “Dreamgirls”), isang thematic fashion show ng mga models na nakasuot ng identical gold gowns, blonde wigs and golden accessories (“Putting on the Ritz”), “Mama Morton” (excerpt from “Chicago”), “Murder on Motown District”, “Motorcycle Patrol”, “Look At Me” (impersonation of Jennifer Hudson from “Chicago”), “How Much is the Doggie”;

“Shanti, Shanti” by Madonna with Indian choreography complete with elephant onstage, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” (impersonation of  Grammy Award winner Patti LaBelle), ballet interpretation of “On A Clear Day” segue to “Maybe This Time” and the finale “We Are What We Are” from “La Cage Au Follies”.

The retro film showing of Mario O’Hara’s almost forgotten gem of a film “Bagong Hari” on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 2pm at the Tanghalang Manuel Conde of the Cultural Center of the Philippines will surely be a reunion of sort of award-winning actors and film production people associated with the veteran filmmaker-scriptwriter-actor.

“Bagong Hari” is the launching vehicle into solo action stardom of then SOS stuntman Dan Alvaro (my first ward and talent).  With him in the cast are Robert Arevalo, Joel Torre, Elvira Manahan, Ruel Vernal, Celso Ad Castillo, Carmi Martin, Toby Alejar, Glaiza Herradura and other supporting actors.

The script of “Bagong Hari” was written by Frank Rivera.  The musical scorer Tony Aguilar garnered an URIAN award for this film.

See you there!
